Preliminary Matters:

As part of the State’s First (Race) to the Top grant, each school system is required to get School Board Approval for its Scope of Work. Our Scope of Work proposes to use our Year 1 grant funds for distance learning labs, expand curriculum maps, professional development, and for the purchase of certain technology equipment. Greater detail is included in the System’s Scope of Work letter. We have not received any information from the State Department of Education as to whether our Scope of Work will or will not be approved at the State level. If not approved, a revised Scope of Work will be presented to the Board for approval.

Staff Recommendation:

I recommend approval of the System’s First (Race) to the Top Scope of Work.
